Site Reliability Engineer

Denver — Full Time — Hybrid

BaseUp creates technology to give employees flexible access to their office parking. As businesses transition to hybrid working, our products support them with more commuting options. Our dedicated team, market-leading technology, and industry partnerships are reshaping how businesses and employees think about office parking.

Since 2017, we’ve worked with some of the world's largest employers and property groups to make over 1 million commutes a little easier.

About the role

We’re looking for someone to support our newly launched U.S. operation. You’ll work closely with our Australian tech team, and U.S. operations team.

This will involve:

  • Improving the reliability, performance and scalability of BaseUp’s platform;
  • Supporting the U.S. operations team with troubleshooting and root cause analysis;
  • Automating internal alerting and monitoring for faster incident detection and recovery;
  • Researching and implementing industry best practices for observability and system architecture.

About our technology

BaseUp has a modern, cloud-based, service-oriented architecture (not microservices!), with a heavy focus on automation and efficient tooling:

  • Containerised services are developed in TypeScript and Go and built using Bazel, for fast, reproducible builds;
  • CI/CD runs in GitHub and Terraform Cloud — deployment of service updates takes a matter of minutes;
  • Infrastructure runs on Google Cloud Platform;
  • DataDog is our centralized observability and security platform, and we integrate with Auth0, Stripe and Twilio; and
  • Custom hardware for controlling car park access.

About you

This is a diverse role within BaseUp’s tech team. You’ll have autonomy to work on long-term projects, and be the key contact for our U.S. operations team.

Our ideal candidates will have:

  • Worked with DataDog and Google Cloud Platform in a production environment;
  • Experience with TypeScript and Go;
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills;
  • The desire to learn and develop new skills;
  • Willingness to propose new ideas and lead their delivery; and
  • Interest in IoT or PropTech.

Benefits of working for us

We pride ourselves on having a flexible, social and collaborative working environment.

  • 6 weeks paid annual leave;
  • Matched 401k contributions;
  • Employee health care;
  • Relaxed work environment with a close team; and
  • Flexible working arrangements.
